Yes, church obviously needs to be rethunk. Church members, us as christians need to understand and think about all the concepts that the rethink church/10,000 doors campaigns bring up; however, if the open hearts, open doors, and open minds campaign had done it’s job this new campaign would not be necessary. If the UMC’s hearts, minds, and doors were truly open we would be in a constant state of church (because the open campaign did not say just on sundays). For this reason I have my doubts that an ad campaign will be the driving force that changes our church. Saying is one thing, doing is totally different.
Well put Ethan, I personally just saw this video on youtube today and dont know much about it, but I do see some similarities between the Rethink campaign and Open Hearts, Minds, and Doors. Obviously in today’s society we have to rethink our way of “doing church” but im not so sure about this campaign as well. I will keep researching the campaign and see what i find out
