“And why do you worry about clothes? Noice how the lilies in the field grow. They don’t wear themselves out with work, and they don’t spin cloth. But I say to you that even Solomon in all of his splendor wasn’t dressed like one of these. If God dresses grass in the field so beautifullly, even though it’s alive today and tomorrow its thrown into the furnace, won’t God do much more for you, you people of weak faith?”
-Matthew 7:11 (CEB)-
One of my favorite people in the world is my Paw-Paw. When Paw-Paw was in his prime he taught sunday school. He loved teaching sunday school because He was passionate about his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Now he lives in a assisted living and unforunately alzheimers has reeked havoc on his mind. It’s a very sad thing to see such a faithful man be the victim of such a terrible thing, but when I think about my Paw-Paw (who is my Dad’s dad) I think about this verse.
It’s his favorite verse.
It explains so much about my Paw-Paw. When he was living in his house he had an amazing garden. It was great to see him work in the garden. The memories that I have aren’t very vivid but I can picture my paw-paw’s great smile while working in his garden. I think he loves this verse for the same reason he loved working in his very garden.
This passage is not about us, its about whats around us. The birds of the air, the trees, and everything else in creation is a testament of God’s power. It’s amazing what you see in creation. The mountains, the hills, and the valleys are all the works of the greatest artist ever.
So today I encourage you to view the greatest artwork ever made. The earth that is around us. Give praise to the ultimate artist!
