Woods says he let family down – Golf – Yahoo! Sports

“I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves,” Woods said on his Web site. “I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”

I really like what my brother David Alexander had to say about this Tiger situation on his blog, Davids Bucket

I don’t know what happened early Friday morning. The truth is, it’s none of my business what happened on Friday morning at Tiger’s house. My gut tells me me that the details of what actually happened that night are not quite in line with the minimal story that the Woods family has shared with the media. Busting out the back window with a golf club in order to remove Tiger from a crash that happened at under 35 miles an hour doesn’t make much sense.

But it’s not my job to make sense of that. It’s not my job to try to figure that out.

It’s none of my business.

Lessons from a legend

Today I was reading up on some blogs on my Google Reader page and I came across this interesting article by Todd Archer on Charles Haley & DeMarcus Ware.

A few feet outside the locker room, close to a water fountain, Ware and Haley talked pass rushing. They simulated moves, inside and outside. They talked about hand placement and using power at times, instead of speed all of the time, to get to the quarterback.

When the Cowboys drafted Ware in the first round four years ago, owner and general manager Jerry Jones envisioned him as another Haley. Same build. Similar athleticism. Same power. Bill Parcells hinted at Lawrence Taylor and Willie McGinest comparisons but agreed with the Haley assessment.

They even share the same number, No. 94, but they had never talked extensively until recently.

"He still has something," Ware said. "He chopped my arm once and I was like, 'Man, you still got it, don't you? Don't take it out on me.' "

Maybe it was coincidental, but Ware's sacks against the Chiefs came by setting up the tackle with an outside rush before ducking inside with his power to get to Matt Cassel.

"You've got to change it up a little bit because a lot of teams are quick passing teams," Ware said. "They do a lot of three-step and you've got to get to the quarterback a little faster and going inside is probably the fastest way to get there."

And DeMarcus Ware did change it up in that Kansas City game, in fact on two separate occasions I can remember hearing the commentator (not sure who it was) saying that instead of a speed rush around the lineman Ware dipped it inside.

Ok, I have to add my two cents….

Improvathon

Alright, I'm to the breaking point. I can't take it anymore.

If I hear one more person say to me that the Dallas Cowboys aren't doing good because we got rid of Terrell Owens I am going to flippin scream! Terrell Owens is gone. Deal with it.

He "plays" for the Buffalo Bills now and I might add that it took him maybe 2 games into the season to start throwing the Bills quarterback under the bus.

Believe it or not we don't need T.O.

Did anybody see Miles Austin? You know the guy that broke the single game receiving yards record for the Dallas Cowboys Franchise. Yeah him. I mean I may be going out on a limb here, but I think he's fast enough. Forget about T.O. He's gone and he's not coming back. Jerry and Uncle Wade are not going to trade for him.

Oh, I have more. Why are we still giving Marion Barber more reps than Tashard Choice? I mean in Kansas City he was averaging 11-12 yards a carry and Marion was obviously not at 100%. Make the right CHOICE!

One final point. To all you Cowboy fans out there that think Jerry will step down as General Manager if the fans boycott the games….seriously? No, Jerry Jones will forever be the Owner and General Manager until he dies. It's his team and he gets to run it however he wants and don't fool yourselves in thinking that he will give up the GM title.

Oh and another thing, even if we lose to Atlanta (next game after the bye week) Wade Phillips will not be getting fired because Jerry will be giving up on the season by firing Wade and if there are two things that I am sure of when it comes to Jerry its the following:

  1. He is fiercely loyal
  2. Jerry never gives up

Now, having said all of that I confess that the Cowboys this season in the first five games have looked pretty pathetic. Kansas City game was maddening to have all those penalties. Penalties gotta stop. Corners could actually I dont know cover your guy the ENTIRE GAME and not the whole game up until 4:00 minutes left in the fourth. Oh and Flozell…good grief man. fix it.

There's my two cents.

GO COWBOYS!!!

Roy Williams doesn’t know his role?

"I do not know what my role is. I'm just trying to help this team win, whether it's catching the ball, whether it's blocking downfield, whether it's whatever. I'm just trying to win. Whatever the game is calling for at that point and time," Williams said. "My role is to, like I say, is to make plays whether it's in the run or pass game I'm guessing. I'm not like give-me-the-ball-every-play type of guy. I'm a go-with-the-flow guy because I just want to win. I was [mad] after the New York game because I had one catch. But if he would have missed that field goal, I wouldn't have been [mad] because we would have won. That's just the type of guy I am, and I hope you can understand that."

So, quick question. How long has Roy Williams been playing football?

Like his whole life right? Or a majority of his life has been dedicated to playing football right? So, with something as basic as what role the #1 Wide Receiver on a team is something he would know right? Or does it need to be spoon-fed?

He doesn't know"whether it's catching the ball, whether it's blocking downfield, whether it's whatever."

His words, not mine.

"My role is to, like I say, is to make plays whether it's in the run or pass game I'm guessing."

So, now he knows what his role is? Oh wait hold on. That was a guess.

Could his role be to catch the ball when its thrown to him and block when its a running play in his direction? Would that be it?

Heck i dont know. That seems too simple of an answer.

Maybe that's the problem.
