Your God Sucks

“Your god sucks because he’s controllable. Your god sucks because he’s tame and predictable. Most of all, your god sucks because he looks nothing like Jesus, and I’m convinced he’s not the real God at all.”
That is a quote from an article on relevantmagazine.com titled “Your God Sucks.” It’s an amazing article in which the author, Jeff Goins talks very “in your face” about who God really is and who we sometimes think God is. You know sometimes we don’t realize it, but we do put God in our little box, and in this box is how we see how God working or even who He is.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and God is not your available for us to mold him into a god that we like. God is God. He is what He always has been. We don’t control God, heck sometimes we don’t even understand God.
I think there is one concept when it comes to God that is very difficult to comprehend. The fact that God loves the world is easy to say, but very difficult to feel. God does love the entire world, every single person that has ever existed or is still existing God loves. That includes all the horrible people that have done horrible things. God loves them too. Everyone.
As human beings that is very difficult to comprehend, because we look at ourselves and see how we sin and then we look at people like Hitler and it doesn’t fit. Well, it doesn’t have to. God loves everyone. End of story.
I encourage everyone to read Jeff Goins article, “Your God Sucks” because it is seriously awesome! Check it out here: http://www.relevantmagazine.com/columns/church-today/17220-your-god-sucks

Going Public-courtesy of Davids Bucket

Christ has no body on earth by yours,
No hands but yours,
No feet but yours,
Yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion for the world is to look out;
Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good;
And yours are the hands with which He is to bless us now.
–Saint Teresa of Avila
“Living out our faith privately was never meant to be an option.” The Hole in our Gospel, pg. 3.
I found this two quotes on my brother David's blog, "Davids Bucket" If haven't read anything from Davids Bucket I encourage you to do so. It's an inspiring blog! www.davidsbucket.com

What a difference a year makes

For those of us that are Rangers fans by choice and not because of a winning record we know that this year has been something special. Here is a statement that I never thought I would say, but now the starting pitching is CARRYING the Rangers, as much trouble as the Rangers have had with Starting pitching that is really something special. Last year our starting pitching was in last place with a 5.37 ERA. This year one of the Rangers surprises, Tommy Hunter has an ERA of 2.26. In his last start against Cleveland he didn’t walk a man and gave up six runs in 7 2/3 innings of a 5-0 victory.
With the Rangers in the lead for the wild card there is one thing that I am praying that every member of the Rangers knows that we cannot let up now. Keep pushing guys!!! YOUR IN A PENNANT RACE!!!!!
