Get Ready! The Journey is upon us!!

“Therefore, once you have your minds ready for action and you are thinking clearly, place your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

– 1 Peter 1:13 –

The time is nearly upon us. For all extensive purposes we have readied our minds for action.

See I love mission trip and I love being a methodist, but most of all I love me some Jesus. This passage I believe is a passage that all members of any mission trip should reflect on. On CTCYM this next week we will be discussing and really living out the phrase,”Putting your faith in action!” To facilitate the reflection for these awesome mission opportunities I would like to reference a quote from Bishop Mike Lowry.

“Mere belief is never enough.”

-Bishop Mike Lowry

Mission Trip, or acts of being in service to others is something that Jesus himself commanded and empowers us to do in our everyday life. I believe that God tells us that just believing in Him or His Son is never enough. Anybody can believe, but what are we as God’s people and followers of His son Jesus Christ, what are we willing to do to act out our beliefs.

So I am challenging everyone who is in mission. Everyday. Just what are you willing to do to show a broken world that Christ is crucified to mend the brokenness? That through His sacrifice We are made whole. What are you willing to do?

I pray that you will reflect on this. I believe it is so important to ready our minds and then put faith in God’s grace to fuel our bodies into action.

Soul Surfer Week Two

God’s Plan

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.”

What’s the difference between a straight path and a crooked path?

Have you ever felt like you just needed answers, but it seems that no matter who you ask told you nothing?

Ever been through a situation that made you feel like you couldn’t take anymore?

Ever felt alone?

That life’s not fair?

Come join us Sunday Night on May 1st as we discuss the plan that God has for our lives and how sometimes it seems like His plan is disappearing right in front of your eyes.

See you then!!!!

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

-1 Timothy 4:12 –

As a youth director my favorite thing about my job is seeing what I saw all day today. Adolescents being redefined by the love and grace and Jesus Christ so that they are equipped to define what the world should stand for.

What God desires for the lives of every living citizen to stand for.

Mission. Service. Helping Others.

Which of these qualities does the youth of today possess?

Unforunately for most people the answer to that question is, “None.”

However, I respectfully disagree. I’ve seen it with my very eyes and heart that they possess all of these qualities.

After all consider the very words of Jesus.

“Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
